Ashley Schultz, PharmD – Medication Safety Pharmacist
Ashley earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and works as a transitions-of-care clinical pharmacist practitioner at the Orlando VA. Much of her work happens when a treatment plan changes: she compares medication lists, finds missing or duplicate medicines and clears up instructions before they cause confusion. She also holds training in immunization administration and Basic Life Support.
Ashley reviews dosage directions, interaction warnings and safety information written for patients. She pays particular attention to questions that sound simple but can change how a medicine works: Was a previous drug discontinued? Can two products be taken together? What happens after a missed dose? Her volunteer experience includes Knights Clinic, Camp Boggy Creek and a community program for children.
Rovere Sailsman, PharmD – Community Pharmacist
Rovere earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He began in the profession as a registered pharmacy technician, continued as a pharmacy intern and later received his Florida pharmacist license. That path gave him experience with every step behind the counter, from preparing prescriptions to checking the finished medication and explaining its use. He is also trained in immunization administration and holds current Basic Life Support certification.
While volunteering at Grace Medical Home, Rovere worked alongside medical students to help patients who faced financial and practical barriers to healthcare. His hospital training included a review of KCentra prescribing patterns and whether its use matched clinical requirements. Rovere applies the same attention to dosage instructions, drug combinations, contraindications and medicine-related questions that require a pharmacist’s review.
Rachel Peña, PharmD – Clinical Pharmacist
Rachel earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and works in emergency medicine and critical care at AdventHealth Orlando. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support and pharmacy-based immunization delivery. Her clinical work has taught her to notice the small details that can become serious problems: an outdated medicine left on a list, two products containing the same ingredient or a dose that does not fit the patient.
Rachel has conducted medication reviews at Knights Clinic and Apopka Clinic and managed medication schedules for children with chronic conditions at Camp Boggy Creek. She checks dosage instructions, interactions and safety warnings and identifies questions that need immediate medical attention. Rachel has also written about antibiotic use, respiratory syncytial virus and communication barriers faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing patients.
Marquita Ferguson, PharmD – Pharmacist
Marquita earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2018. She works at Walmart Specialty Pharmacy in Orlando and deals with medicines for long-term conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. Many of these products have strict storage rules, detailed dosing schedules and tests that must be completed during treatment.
She checks prescriptions for incorrect doses, interactions and missing information. When answering a medication question, Marquita goes straight to what matters: how to use and store the medicine, what to do after a missed dose and which side effects require a call to the doctor.
